What is an alternative to hair extensions since they are too expensive?

I want to get hair extensions because i want my hair to look more longer and thicker, but I found out that they can be very expensive, sometimes leading to $2,000! Are there any alternatives that are a little cheaper? What is an alternative to hair extensions since they are too expensive?
Cosmetologist of 25 years here!!

The clip on strips are good. They are fun and you can take them off when and if you get tired of them.

You should get human hair...the Paris Hilton or Jessica Simpson ones are good...Just make sure they are human hair.

Human hair ones allow you to color match them to your color...allow you to use thermal devices on them..and cut them to blend in with your style.

They are a little tricky to get in just right...but your stylist can help you and show you some tips and tricks. I just love to play with these when my clients bring them in!!! Fun...fun...fun.

You can get some funky color pieces to snap in there when you go out or to a football game. Really fun!! Then when you are done...snap it out til the next game!!

A good thought is that you can save money for the more permante ones while you are using the clip ons. This will give you a chance to see if you really want to invest the cashola in them...as you are correct..they are mondo expensive.

Well, I hope my answer is helpful to you...Good Luck!!What is an alternative to hair extensions since they are too expensive?
You can use the plain weave that African Americans tend to use.

Just glue it in (using weave glue which is usually black), or even simpler, use the weave for a ponytail.

When you glue the weave in, you basically make horizontal parts across your head and glue it onto sections of your real hair.

I find that the ponytail is easier. Just slick your hair back into a ponytail. (Applying shine product on your real hair makes the weave more realistic) Then use a weave that's your hair color and wrap it around the ponytail you did. I recommend using the weave glue to secure it, and keep adding layers of hair as necessary. When you're done put a scrunchie over it and no one will ever tell the difference

Good luck :)
Hey i know they can be $2000.

Thats crazy!

We live in a suburbian town and my sister goes to the closest city.

She gets them done there where she is the only white girl.

She became really close with her hair stylist and she goes to her house now.Lol.

She pays $100 for the tracks of fake hair.

Then another $100 to her hair stylist for putting them in.

I'm pretty sure it lasts 3 months but take care of them!

You can loose hair that way if you leave them in for too long.
