How do you apply cheap, single strand hair extensions without them looking as cheap as they really are?

I bought them for like two dollars at crazy clarks and i think they have the potential to look sweet, but, i need to know;


Where should i put them so they will look good


and


Do i hide the top under the hair or just clip in on top?


I have short/medium hair, they bottom reaches my shoulders but i have exceedingly short layers.

it sounds like it's just a colour chunk you want to put in. If it's stick straight make sure you flatten you hair to make it stick straight first. Ditto with waves or curls. The length of the extension should match the length of your hair/layer it's on. You don't want the clip to show so don't attach it on a top layer.
