Prom Hairstyles for Long Hair?

I'm interested in something with braid details and curl because I have long, naturally straight hair.

My dress has a beautiful back and I'd like to show it off but I honestly wanted my hair down. I'm open to both updos and more relaxed styles though.

i like to see it half up and half down. first get a natural perm or set it with curlers. then comb some gel through the whole head to give it volume and lift and to set it. then use a small clip or claw to put up most of it but leave just one long strand down the center of the back. use rhinestones or small flowers to decorate. have someone help you and make sure it stays in place. be patient. then spray with hairspray to set.
Hair salons usually have lots and lots of books with beautiful hairstyles. Go with your mom and select some that you like. Show them to the stylist and ask if he/she can give you that hair style. If everyone is in agreement, set an appointment.
