Hair extensions? best to have hair dyed before or after applying extension?

was told after because natural hair is stronger but surely when i dye it my hair will be weaker then also?Hair extensions? best to have hair dyed before or after applying extension?
first off you should colour your hair first as then you can have the extensions to match instead of trying to match your colour to the extensions. secondly hair is dead and therefore doesn't ';heal'; or ';get better'; once it has left the root it has diminished any blood flow from the body and has nothing to stimulate it, it grows because of the root which is alive so basically when you damage your hair then the damage is there to stay (until it grows out of course) you can only MASK damage, it cannot be repaired, so baby your hair and don't do too much to it at one time, extensions weigh down the hair so if it is at all dry or brittle then chances are it will break.Hair extensions? best to have hair dyed before or after applying extension?
Your hair doesn't have to be weaker if it's dyed properly and not over processed.

Natural hair tends to be slicker and less thick so it's harder for the extension to cling to. When you dye your hair it's a little coarser so it clings better.

But if you're talking permanent extension I'd do it professionally because a trained beautician can get it closer to the same color as the extension.

Btw Addy your own hair is dead past an inch beyond your scalp. That's why you brush it to bring oil down to it and use hair products to make it shine. Ever seen a tree half dead? It still blossoms like crazy but the leaves on the dead side are drier and more brittle. That's how your hair is. No matter how much you nourish the root the nourishment can only travel so far.
It is best to apply the dye to the hair in order to match the extenison perfectly.
Before is best. Extensions don't dye well, and synthetic hair shouldn't be dyed at all.
having extensions in your hair when dying your own hair has no effect as to the extent of damage done by the chemicals. your hair is still having chemicals applied to them, it just now needs extra chemicals to make up for the added hair. it will also make it more dificult with extensions in your hair since you would have to work around them and pay extra special attention to the root areas where the extensions are attached.

extensions really shouldn't be dyed in my opinion. they don't dye like normal hair since they aren't alive and don't have roots. plus, they dry out very easily, making them coarse. I would dye my hair before, then add the extensions.
