I'm getting human hair extensions from Great Lengths through a hair salon. I know their prices can run very high. The cold applying method (or something like that) is what i wanted originally, but it's just too rediculously expensive. The hot method ('') is cheaper, but they say that the cold method is better for your hair? I'm a little foggy on this now. What is the difference between the two applications and would it still be worth my money getting the Great Lengths hair application through the hot method?Hair extension application methods?
Fusion hair extensions can be applied in different ways: hot or cold fusion. Hot fusion or bonding uses hot glue to attach extensions to your hair. This is the more traditional method. Sometimes people say that the glue causes the extensions to feel stiff and unnatural. These extensions can last up to 4 months.
Cold fusion is a newer method, and is meant to be gentle for the hair. This method uses a keratin-based polymer to attach extensions to the root. As this method uses no heat, it is good for fine or thin hair. The polymer offers more flexibility than hot-glue, and results in more natural-feeling hair. These extensions can last up to six months.
It seems to be a lot more money for something that lasts just another two months, so if your hair can survive the experience, go with the hot method over the cold. But shop around for alternatives before you spend $600 - 1000 and up.Hair extension application methods?
im not familiar with those two methods..bt i have tried all kinds of hair extensions and have to tell ya,wven though at a salon it can run up to 1000+$, but it honestly gives the best results. unless you have a friend that knows how to do extensions, id say save up the money because its worth it. but remember every fill will cost btwn 100 and 300 every 3-6 months
