What are the cons of getting hair extensions?

I'm a caucasian female with long, fine, sparse straight hair. I'm considering getting extensions to make my hair look a little bit thicker.





Besides the price, what other downfalls are there? Do they hurt / feel uncomfortable? Are they high maintenance, etc., etc., ???

It's a lot harder to take care of hair extensions. It's difficult to wash and style, it's just an added build-up to your natural hair.





I've never seen someone with hair extensions and actually thought it was their real hair. They look really fake and it just wrecks the rest of your hair.





I'd recommend using some volumising shampoo and conditioner, and maybe use some mousse or pomade to add body. Layers could be a good idea if you don't have them already.





But as a whole, hair extensions are a waste of your money, and they get damaged very easily.What are the cons of getting hair extensions?
Human hair extensions ,also depending on the percentage of human hair in the extension,will make your dream come true without a problem in mantainance,styling,confort,and all other major concerns.On the other hand,the more synthetic the extension is,the more night mares you will have.My self i use,i sell,i buy extensions.That is how much i know about them.
The main issue would typically be the time that is required to get them done and the general cost. I would not let any cons put you off doing it, at the end of the day if you do not like them you can take steps into removing them.





I would also recommend learning how to do it at home, therefore you do not have to spend a fortune at a salon.

the only thing I can picture is britney spears horrible extensions when she shaved her head. don't do it, I think they hot glue them in your hair which could cause more damage than they are worth.
Sometimes its hard to take care of them. When you answered my hair dye question, the picture is a guy :] haha :]
