How can i put in a hair extension?

i just got a abbey dawn shirt today and it came with a pink hair extension with the comb in it, how do i put it on without it looking stupid?How can i put in a hair extension?

Or you can do that process and when it's in you can braid it into another piece and make it look half your hair color and half pink!How can i put in a hair extension?
You ean the one from Avril Lavigne? I think she holds the two hair pieces together and comb it together.
