Hair Extension pattern or process?

I bought human hair extensions in 14 inch length pieces. They will be installed using micro links (individual pieces that go inside the tube which attaches near the root.) Is there a certain pattern to follow? I have watched some instructional videos on youtube but all they show is how to put one or two in. i want to know if there is a checkered pattern or something when installing them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Hair Extension pattern or process?
I find a brick layer pattern is best. So when your doing a row, you leave space in between the links, when you go up to the next section (i call them rows) put those where the spaces are on the row below.
