I like the whole curly end thing. Use a curling iron to barrel curl the ends in large sections.
Sure, put it up on top of your head like they make waitresses do. (I once knew a waitress in N.C. who would keep her pen stuck upright, right in the middle of her hair. I affectionately called her ';My Favorite Martian.';

if you are talking like past your shoulders long you can put your hair in a really high pony tail and curl it and bobby pinn it so it looks super cool
